The Admissions Review Committee will process all complete applications. The decision of the committee will be final and binding.
The fee is non-refundable. Once paid it cannot be refunded for any reason either prior to the commencement of or during the course on withdrawal of a student.
Admission to the course does not guarantee certification. Basic requirements (hereunder) must be met by each student in all areas of the course.
Diploma will be awarded only on completion of all AMI requirements which are as follows:
Students will be eligible to sit for examinations only of the following AMI requirements are met:
- 90% attendance for each aspect of the course
- Punctual completion and submission of all assignments called for in the course of the year
- Full payment of the fees
- Completion of required hours of School Teaching Practice
- Completion of required hours of School Observations
- Completion of required hours of Supervised Practice
Acts of academic dishonesty which will result in suspension or dismissal from the course are: Plagiarism in all its forms and facilitating academic dishonesty on the part of another student.
The AMI Diploma will be awarded to a student only if in addition to the above the following AMI requirements are met:
- Successful result in Paper A
- Successful result in Paper B
- Successful result in all parts of the Oral Examinations
An external examiner will be appointed by AMI to conduct the examinations. The diploma is awarded by the Association Montessori Internationale after a successful written and oral examination and completion of all requirements for certification. The decision of the board of examiners will be final and binding. No appeals will be entertained after results are released.
Registered students who for valid reasons fail to appear for the examinations on the scheduled dates at the appointed time may be given the opportunity to appear at the examinations held the following year thereafter. They will have to apply for this opportunity in writing with a full and acceptable explanation. In case of medical grounds, a registered practitioner must attest the medical certificate. They will be charged the Examination Fee for the re-examination. Students appearing for re-examination in any of the four parts can do so ONLY the following year. They will be required to attend additional classes for which they will be charged a fee. They will also be charged the Examination Fee for the re-examination. Students who fail in the examination or re-examination and still wish to attain an AMI diploma will have to undergo another full course of training for which they will be charged the full Course fees including Examination Fee.
Students caught in acts of academic dishonesty during written examinations will be immediately dismissed from the course and will not be eligible to complete the examination process, resulting in a fail grade recorded for the course.
Late Submission of Assignments
The due dates for the submissions will be included in the course schedule. Assignments submitted late beyond the due date will not be read.
The late assignments can be included in the final submission of albums. If the final albums are not uploaded by date specified, it will be necessary for you to write to us to request a delay. The album requirement will be entered as incomplete in our course records. You will receive a result letter in which you will be given an opportunity to complete your albums within 12 months. Please be aware that in this case you will need to pay the examination fee and a percentage of the tuition fee of the current course. The diploma will be delayed till the requirements can be met.
The final album will be assessed for clarity and understanding. If a large part of the feedback given is not carried out, if the late assignments are not accurate or complete the albums will be assessed as inaccurate or incomplete by the board of examiners. The album requirement will be entered as incomplete in our course records. You will receive a result letter in which you will be given an opportunity to complete within 12 months. Please be aware that in this case you will need to pay the examination fee and a percentage of the tuition fee of the current course. The diploma will be delayed till the requirements can be met.
