Navadisha Montessori Foundation

Navadisha Montessori Foundation (NMF) was established in 2004 to meet the growing need for Montessori teacher training in Chennai. Our mission is to offer training of a high standard, helping graduates integrate theory and practice. We further seek to establish a strong bond with the alumni and the Montessori schools in the vicinity to ensure teamwork and awareness and overall growth in the community.

Where we are

Navadisha is located in Velachery, a residential suburb of Chennai. The up and coming area is home to many young families with young children. The area bustles with shops and restaurants. The Phoenix mall with its theatres, restaurants and cafés is a well-known landmark. Velachery is well connected through public transport – the MRTS station, the Vijayanagar Bus Stand are close by and taxi and auto services are on call.

AMI certificate courses are shorter and offer an overview of the Montessori approach to education.  We support our Alumni through AMI Refresher Courses at various age levels. Over the years we have reached out to parents, teachers and childcare professionals. Many of our alumni have worked with children in different capacities as teachers in schools, in social outreach programmes.

Workshops

At Navadisha we conduct a number of events to reach out to the community. Our workshops are designed to focus on common challenges that face parents and teachers in their interactions with children. The topics we have chosen have ranged from multilingual education. Montessori practice at Home, helping children read and write, storytelling and so on. They offer participants opportunity for both study and discussion.
