Workshop: Classroom Management

As Montessori educators we know that our role is to observe, to offer presentations that will engage the children in work. Yet sometimes we feel that in each area of the classroom we are constantly managing the children, telling them what to do and what not to do, all the time. On a day to day basis we constantly struggle with the children who find it difficult to follow the hidden rules of the environment. We worry about whether we should enforce the rules at all times or flex them to accommodate children’s choices. We worry about whether to correct the children or leave them alone. How can we help the children to function in the prepared environment? This workshop will offer practical strategies to help educators build confidence in guiding the children towards a productive and harmonious life in all areas of the environment.
