Navadisha Montessori School affiliated to the ICSE Board, is located in Velachery in a spacious, specially designed building. We actively work to ensure that the students who attend the School come from families that represent a diversity of social, economic and cultural backgrounds.

The pre-primary staff at Navadisha, comprises dedicated professionals including well-trained AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) diploma holders with a serious interest in the development of children in the early years. The primary staff come from a variety of backgrounds and are well qualified in diverse capacitites. The teaching staff is supported by a strong administrative body which helps to co-ordinate the educational efforts. The staff body is united by their interest in the work, the philosophy and their basic belief in teamwork and co-operation and in the goals of the organisation.
Montessori (Pre-primary) Programme
A Montessori environment is created for the child where he or she is free to move, speak and to work at his or her own development. In this environment he is an independent individual. He works and interacts with children of mixed ages in an atmosphere of helpfulness and cooperation. The environment is designed with all his needs in mind.

The scientifically designed material is laid out in the classroom within easy reach of the child's eyes and hands. The use of the material is demonstrated to the child who enjoys the purposeful activities they offer. The child uses the material to build his intelligence.

Education is viewed as aid to life. The activities possible this environment are an essential part of the education process. In learning to care for himself and his environment the child builds independence and coordination.

A child who has a supportive home environment and the benefit of Montessori education will take many asserts with him into his life beyond school. He will be capable of judging his own work. He will be a disciplined worker, interest in orderly processes and will set high standards for himself.

At Navadisha, an attempt is made to help children deepen their understanding of a subject and keep their interest in it alive. Their knowledge is therefore becomes rooted in real life experience. The children also undertake projects from which they gain much sound understanding. While grappling with a topic like clothing, transport, or road safety - the children and teachers work around the topic in a number of ways. The children in the primary classes often go out on station field trips - both within and outside the city. They gain in a number of ways.

Navadisha is a small school and there are a limited number of vacancies in each class.

If there are no vacancies in the class into which you are seeking admission, you will be informed immediately and your enquiry kept on file. You will be called for an Orientation only if a vacancy arises.

If vacancies exist in the class that you are seeking admission to, you will be mailed a reference number and given a date for the Orientation. Please quote the number during all phone calls and correspondence with the school regarding this enquiry.
For admission into the Montessori environments:
Orientation:
The Orientation Meeting will last half an hour. You will meet with the Admission Review Committee who will explain the Montessori approach to education. You will also have the opportunity to observe classes in session. You can also meet with our Deputy Director to discuss the fee structure and transport arrangements.


Application:

The application form will be issued ONLY after the orientation meeting.

For admission into the Primary Classes:

Orientation:
The Orientation Meeting will last half an hour. You will meet with the Admission Review Committee who will explainthe Navadisha philosophy.You can also meet with our Deputy Director to discuss the fee structure and transport arrangements.

Assessment:
Following the Orientation Meeting we request you to bring your child for an informal Assessment at Navadisha. This is to help us study your child’s learning style, particularly the standard of English, Mathematics and Second Language. The duration of the Assessment will be approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
